Pennsylvania State University’s student government voted to pay transgender students to legally change their name.

The Penn State University Park student association voted unanimously on Wednesday night to pass legislation that provides financial support for transgender students who want to change their legal name, according to the student newspaper Collegian.

According to the legislation, it aims to “support the transgender community” as well as strengthening efforts to “create a safe and inclusive environment for transgender students at the university.”

The legislation states that those who are trying to change their name for reasons other than divorce usually have to pay between $150 and $250.
