Two students say they were bitten by a tennis racquet by a physical education teacher at a Kashmir high school.

HOUSTON “Two Kashmir high school students say that their PE teacher not only hit one of them on the head with a tennis racket, but also slapped and bit him.

On Monday, the parents of two students said they were not only upset about what happened, but even more disappointed that no one from the school or the Houston Independent School District reported the situation.

Parents have allowed their children to speak exclusively to KPRC 2 News.

José Ramirez, who says he was bitten, said he now has to take antibiotics to prevent leg infections.

José Garcia says he suffers from persistent headaches after a gym teacher lost his temper and attacked them for a tennis ball.

“I was screaming and no one was helping me until I looked at him (Garcia) and he literally had to fight with the teacher to make him enjoy getting off me,” Ramirez said.

The two best friends are in 10th grade at a Kashmir high school, but both say they won’t go back after being attacked by the teacher.

“The ball hit us and hit the wall under the stands and he thought we had the ball,” Ramirez said.

The boys said that the teacher then got angry and began to physically attack them.

“He said, ‘Do you want me to come and take it from you?’ And I thought, “I don’t understand.” Then he just walked up to me and started tugging at my clothes,” Garcia said.

The boys said the teacher hit Ramirez on the back when he tried to intervene.

“I thought, ‘Hey, you can’t do this.’ And he just looked me straight in the eye and just… bam,” Ramirez said.

Ramirez said he tried to defend himself, but then the teacher took a tennis racket and started swinging.

“At first I thought he was trying to throw it at him, so I grabbed a tennis racket and it hit me right here (on the eye) and everything turned black and I only saw little white dots,” Garcia said.

Ramirez said the teacher started chasing him with a racket until they both fell, but says the rage is far from over.

“For no reason, he just hugged my leg, he had it, it didn’t even look like a straight tooth bite, he was on the side, and he was shaking his head and all that,” Ramirez said.

Garcia said he had to hit and kick the teacher to get him to stop biting.

The boy’s parents provided a photo that they say shows a fresh bite mark, and another photo where you can also see the bite mark on the sweatpants he was wearing.

“The fact is that he did it, for example, at work. You have to be professional,” Ramirez said.

The parents said they filed a complaint with the HISD police and are demanding that the teacher be arrested and fired.
