Two elderly women are rescued from a fire in an apartment in Hollister

HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION-TV) — Hollister police said a fire broke out at an apartment in the 1000 block of Nash Road around 6:34 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said two elderly women were locked in their home when the fire started. Police assisted firefighters in evacuating two women.

“The real hero here was a neighbor who put himself in danger by helping put out the fire while we helped evacuate two residents for medical attention,” Hollister police said.
