Trump partners with inmates on January 6 to release song ahead of keynote speech – “Justice for All”

Sacred words take on new meaning in a video that features the voices of former President Donald Trump and prisoners imprisoned for participating in the Capitol invasion.

The project is called Justice for All. It debuted on YouTube Thursday in preparation for Trump’s speech Saturday at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

In addition to Trump, the single’s performers were a group of about 20 inmates imprisoned in Washington, D.C. who call themselves the J6 prison choir, according to Forbes.

Profits from the project will benefit the families of the prisoners.

The video begins with the prisoners singing “The Star Spangled Banner”.

The backdrop is a stark reminder of what the prisoners are experiencing. The frame is dominated by the blackness of a prison cell, behind a barred window an American flag is visible, across which a row of barbed wire runs.

About 30 seconds later, Trump’s voice offers a loud start to the pledge of allegiance.

Trump continues to say “The Oath” with passages interspersed with prisoners singing the national anthem.

The video ends with the prisoners chanting: “USA! USA! USA!”

Forbes reported that Trump recorded The Pledge last month in Mar-a-Lago.

The prisoners, who sing the national anthem every night, were recorded on the phone.

The custom is so famous among Trump supporters that last year one Trump rally was interrupted at 9 p.m. sharp with inmates singing the anthem so the crowd could sing.

Forbes reported that the project was produced by a major recording artist, whom he did not name.

Last year, Trump called a rally to express his support for those imprisoned for their role in the January 6 events, The Hill reports.

“This is a terrible thing that has happened to a lot of people who are being treated very, very unfairly,” Trump said at the time.

“There has never been anything like this in our country, and I just want to tell everyone who is listening that we are with you, we are working on this with a lot of different people, and we cannot allow this to happen,” Trump said.

For Trump, this speech is just the latest example of how he is gaining momentum by 2024.

In fact, a recent poll by Emerson College Polling found that Trump, rather than Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis or Nikki Haley, has the best chance of defeating President Joe Biden in the 2024 general election.
