Train derailed in North Dakota, no danger

A train derailed near Burlington, North Dakota early Friday morning with no injuries or hazardous material spills reported, a fire department spokesman said.

According to Burlington Volunteer Fire Department fire chief Carter Lesmann, the train was a mile and a half long and contained more than 60 cars. Several cars of the train derailed near County Road 10 between Des Lax and Burlington and 17 empty containers fell 4 or 5 feet off the rails without tipping over, along with two BNSF Railway locomotives.
