Toddler among three injured in shootout on SAPD’s north side

San Antonio authorities are currently searching for one individual believed to have been involved in a shooting incident that left three people, including a 3-year-old child, injured. The incident took place outside a north-side H-E-B store, where an exchange of gunfire occurred.

According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the incident unfolded just before 7 p.m. when shots were fired outside the store located at San Pedro and Oblate. An officer in the vicinity witnessed a car speeding away from the scene, prompting the police to give chase. The pursuit led them to an apartment complex off Jackson Keller, approximately two miles away from the store. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a 23-year-old woman and her 3-year-old child with bullet grazes.

In addition to the mother and child, officers also found a man who had been shot at the nearby H-E-B. It is believed that this individual was part of a different group involved in the exchange of gunfire with the party that included the woman and her child. Fortunately, none of the victims sustained serious injuries.

Authorities are still on the lookout for at least one other person believed to be driving a maroon-colored SUV. The investigation is ongoing, and the SAPD is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
