This North Texas high school basketball player was named an All American McDonald’s.

Holland is ranked fifth on ESPN’s 100 Best Recruits for 2023. He has already signed with the Texas Longhorns.

DUNCANVILLE, TX – North Texas will be represented at this year’s coveted McDonald’s All-American Game.

Duncanville High School star forward Ron Holland was named to Team West when the rosters were announced Tuesday afternoon.

Holland is currently ranked #5 on ESPN’s Top 100 Recruits for 2023. He is also the strongest forward on this list.

The 6-foot-8 forward has already signed with the University of Texas at Austin after graduating this year.

Holland will team up with other top high school players, including #3 rookie Isaiah Collier of Georgia and even Bronnie James, son of LeBron James, of Los Angeles.

The 2023 McDonald’s All-American Game is set to take place on Tuesday, March 28 at the Toyota Center in Houston.

While Holland will be able to finish his high school basketball career as an All-American, his team will nonetheless end their season before the playoffs begin.

The Duncanville boys basketball team withdrew from postseason play for the 2022–2023 season after the Collegiate Interhigh League (UIL) stripped the group of the 2022 Class 6A championship and placed the team on three-year probation.

The punishment followed in November 2022 after the UIL ruled that there was an ineligible player in Duncanville.

Although Duncanville will not make the playoffs, ESPN ranked the boys’ team 4th in the nation for the week of January 23, 2023.
