The woman got into the book of records and overtook everyone at the half marathon of Disney princesses

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida – The Colorado woman made history by becoming only the third woman to win the overall title at the RunDisney Half Marathon.

According to a press release, Neely Gracie of Denver, Colorado beat everyone at the Disney Princesses Sunday Half Marathon at the Walt Disney Resort.

Gracie joins Giovanna Martins, winner of the 2017 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, and Jackie Pirtlehall, 2019 Disney Princess Half Marathon champion, who accomplished the feat.

“I’ve never raced in a row like this before, so after running 10k yesterday and then training for a half marathon today, I had to use some of the strategies I’ve learned in my nearly 20 years. running to really make sure I was able to finish strong today and it paid off,” Gracie said.

According to the post, Gracie passed runner-up Michael Fassner in the final stages, crossing the finish line just seven seconds ahead of him, running the 13.1-mile course through EPCOT and Magic Kingdom in 1:15:55.

“I overtook the best woman the moment we were in Magic Kingdom and then I just kept riding after that,” said Gracie, who competed in her first competition of 2023. “I was third for a while, then second for a while, and then I really couldn’t beat the best man until we were about half a mile from the finish line. So it really only happened in the last two minutes of the race.”
