The northbound lane on the North Freeway on I-10 is closed due to loss of traffic due to a large drilling rig, HPD said.

HOUSTON – Due to the loss of cargo from a large drilling rig, the northern lanes of the Northern Freeway on I-10 were closed on Friday, Houston Police Department officers said.

HPD is reported to be blocking lanes while they work with TxDOT and others to determine what hardware can help remove the lost load.

At this time, drivers are asked to use an alternate route.
