Howell Township Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Manassa Road

The Howell Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred on the early morning of May 7, 2023. A motorcycle crash was discovered by an on-duty Howell Township police officer at around 12:37 a.m., resulting in the death of a 40-year-old motorcyclist from Jackson Township. The accident was caused by the motorcycle colliding with a utility pole.

After a thorough investigation on the scene, it was determined that the motorcyclist was headed southbound on Manassa Road when it suddenly went off the roadway to the right for an unknown reason. The crash resulted in a fatal collision with the utility pole. No further information was given as to why the motorcycle went off the roadway, and the crash remains under investigation by the Howell Township Police Department.
