The day Lindsey Clancy allegedly killed three of her children and paralyzed herself in a suicide attempt began when she was building a snowman with her 3-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter.

It happened outside Clancy’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, on the morning of Jan. 24, prosecutors said Tuesday during the arraignment in Plymouth County District Court.

At 4:02 p.m., the 32-year-old nurse searched her phone for information about children’s MiraLAX and takeaway restaurants, according to prosecutors, who claimed it was the start of a bloody plot to kill her children.

By 6:11 p.m., her husband, Patrick Clancy, was on the 911 phone and screaming for help when he found his wife in the backyard after she jumped out of their bedroom window.

He was still on the phone with emergency personnel when he screamed at the discovery of his children with exercise ropes around their necks, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors detailed what happened in the two-plus hours that began with Lindsey’s Internet search and ended with Patrick’s 54-minute drive from their home to CVS, to the restaurant, and back.

Clancy allegedly browsed the CVS website and then called a Kingston pharmacy and spoke to a manager about MiraLAX, prosecutors said.

“According to the CVS manager, her voice was not slurred or disturbed in any way,” Sprague said. “She had no problem understanding the defendant and it was a perfectly normal conversation.”

Clancy’s husband was working from home in his basement office, and she allegedly asked him to go to CVS and pick up a takeaway from ThreeV’s restaurant in a message saying, “I didn’t cook anything. It’s been a long day,” prosecutors said. .

He called Lindsey at 5:33 p.m., but she did not answer, prosecutors said.

“Though he did mention that she seemed to be busy with something,” she added.

Patrick was seen leaving CVS at 17:37.

She replied: “I tried to kill myself and jump out of the window,” Sprague said.

He was still on the phone when he asked Lindsey where the kids were.

“He later told the police that she said, ‘In the basement,’” Sprague said.

Patrick was still on the phone with emergency dispatchers when he fled to the basement and found his three children with exercise cords around their necks, prosecutors said.

“You can hear him screaming in agony, in shock when he found his children,” Sprague said. “His scream seemed to get louder and more painful as time went on… He removed the bandages and begged them to breathe.”

Cora, 5, and Dawson, 3, died in the hospital. Seven-month-old Callan lived another three days before his death.

Lindsey woke up in the hospital but was unable to speak, prosecutors said. The first thing she wrote on the board was, “I need a lawyer,” Sprague said.

In a statement on his GoFundMe page, Patrick said he forgave his wife and asked others to do the same.

“The real Lindsey showed generous love and care to everyone – me, our children, family, friends and her patients,” he wrote. “The very fibers of her soul are full of love. All I wish for her right now is for her to find peace somehow.”

Lindsey appeared from her hospital bed via Zoom in Plymouth County Circuit Court for her arraignment when she was charged with two counts of murder, three counts of strangulation, and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

She was declared innocent on all counts on her behalf, and the judge did not set bail.

Lindsey is paralyzed from the waist down, according to her lawyer Kevin Reddington, who said she has a history of struggling with her mental health and taking too many medications, turning her into a “zombie”.
