Texas ship captain arrested after strange objects keep appearing

A Texas man charged with distributing the ashes of the dead off the coast of Galveston has been arrested after the ashes were found elsewhere.

Cody Kenny, a former captain of a charter fishing boat, has been charged with three counts of cadaver abuse, KHOU-TV in Houston reported on Thursday. He is free on $15,000 bail.

Court documents say that charter fishing services are often asked to scatter the ashes of the dead, according to KRIV-TV in Houston.

The documents say that 95 to 98 percent of the time on board are family members of the deceased or his friends.

According to court documents, Kenny was instructed to scatter the ashes of the dead in cases where there was no one to accompany them.

This was usually done on charter fishing trips, unless members of the charter party had objections.

On October 13, 2022, the owner of the company that Kenny worked for was informed by a local funeral director that the cremated remains of a man had been found in the garage of a former member of Kenny’s boat crew. HOW.

Then in October, the owner of a fishing charter service discovered more cremated remains.

The remains of a woman were discovered on one boat when the owner went to clean it. The remains were handed over to Kenny on June 28, 2022.

The owner then checked his other boats and found another set of cremated remains. The owner said they were also given to Kenny in either late 2021 or early 2022.

A warrant for Kenny’s arrest was issued on February 1. He surrendered to police on Wednesday, according to KHOU.

The owner of the company hired to spread the ashes said he contacted the families after it became known that their ashes had not been scattered and offered to do so, but they declined his offer.

According to the Houston Chronicle, the reason why Kenny did not scatter the ashes was not given.
