Teenager critically injured in Port St. Lucie motorcycle accident

Port St. Lucie, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy is currently in critical condition after colliding with a car while riding his motorcycle, according to Port St. Lucie police. The incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the 2400 block of Southeast Hallahan Street.

Authorities stated that the teenager, who was not wearing a helmet, was riding a black Honda motorcycle when he struck a white Honda vehicle that was backing out of a driveway. The collision resulted in the young driver being ejected from his motorcycle.

In a tweet by the Port St. Lucie Police Department, they provided additional details of the incident, mentioning that the black Honda motorcycle was traveling north on Southeast Hallahan Street when the collision occurred. Emergency medical services quickly arrived at the scene and found the 17-year-old boy lying on the ground after being thrown from his motorcycle. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was promptly airlifted to a nearby hospital where he is currently being treated. The hospital has reported his condition as critical.

Fortunately, the driver of the white Honda vehicle did not sustain any injuries from the collision. Their safety serves as a reminder for the importance of wearing protective gear, such as helmets, while operating motorcycles.
