SWAT team arrests wanted fugitive at Garland’s home, police say

GARLAND, Texas. A Garland Police Department SWAT team was called Tuesday to a nearby home after officers saw a wanted criminal entering the home, officials said.

Police said they saw the suspect, 37-year-old Manuel Acosta De La Sancha, enter a house in the 3400 block of Hillsdale Lane. The SWAT team was called in as a precaution.

SWAT negotiators constantly ordered De La Sancha to leave the house, and police said he eventually complied.

De La Sancha was arrested for two felony warrants, domestic violence with previous convictions, and aggravated child sexual abuse.

The suspect is now in the Garland Detention Center and bail had not been set on any of the charges as of Tuesday evening.
