Suspect on the run after robbing and shooting a man outside a restaurant in Orlando, police say

ORLANDO, Florida. – A man was injured after being robbed and shot dead outside a Texas Roadhouse restaurant Saturday afternoon in Orlando, police said.

According to the Orlando Police Department, the man was a passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended by an SUV around 2:30 p.m. near South Semoran Boulevard and Lee Vista Boulevard.

Police said that after both vehicles pulled over after the crash, the victim got out to talk to the driver of the SUV. A man then entered the victim’s car and “took his backpack, which led to an altercation and fight,” according to Orlando police.

Police said the suspect drew a gun and shot at the victim before returning to his SUV with a backpack and driving towards Lee Vista Boulevard.

According to a press release from the Orlando Police Department, the victim was able to run to a nearby parking lot, where police found him and applied a tourniquet to his wounds.

The man was taken to a local hospital, but the police did not provide any further information about his injuries.

Police said they believed the suspect was driving an older gold-colored Nissan Murano, but there was no other information about the suspect.
