Suspect charged with murder of Jacob Dubois

Authorities said Dubois was last seen alive with Ethan Beckman in March 2021. Beckman is now charged with murder and falsification of evidence.

SHERZ, Texas. A man has been charged with the murder of Jacob DuBois, who went missing for over a year before his remains were found in Comal County.

Ethan Beckman, 22, was originally charged with tampering with evidence, but authorities now say a Guadeloupe County Grand Jury has also brought a real indictment against him for murder. He is in the Guadalupe County Jail on $1,250,000 bail.

Authorities said on March 7, 2021, DuBois was last seen and knew he was with Ethan Beckman. After Dubois went missing, officials questioned Beckman and searched his car. He was charged with falsifying evidence and remains in jail on $850,000 bail.

Human remains discovered in Komal County in September 2022 have been identified as those of Jacob Dubois, according to the Schertz Police Department.

The LDS was notified that the remains were discovered and recovered in the jurisdiction on September 14, the officials said in a Facebook post. It was not immediately clear what evidence was uncovered to charge Beckman with the murder.
