‘Surreal moment’ Frisco’s Nick Bolton dreamed he’d score a big goal in the Super Bowl

Many of Sunday’s Super Bowl players have Texas ties, including the Kansas City Chiefs linebacker. Nick Bolton, who graduated from Lone Star High School in Frisco. in 2018.

Everyone knows Bolton’s name after his stunning sensation that helped the Chiefs equalize in the second quarter. Houston native and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts fumbled the ball and Bolton picked it up and ran down the field for 36 yards for a touchdown that made the score 14–14.

On Monday morning on TODAY, Bolton spoke about his dream related to the play.

“I think two nights ago, I think three nights ago, I had a scenario of exactly how it happened,” Bolton said. “So it was a surreal moment. Once I hit the end zone, I don’t know man, I didn’t know what to expect, maybe the flag was lowered. It was just a surreal moment for me, we needed to win.”

Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb also asked Bolton about his long emotional embrace with his family. A video posted to Twitter after the game shows Bolton hugging his motherwho, along with his sister, was being treated for cancer.

Bolton said it was a special moment for them as his mother missed him playing.

“In high school, my mom wasn’t allowed to watch me play for health reasons,” he said. “And so the chance to see her in the stands at this game and her presence there and finally having the win and the confetti falling is just a surreal moment for us.”

Bolton went on to say that it’s hard to sum up how he feels about having a Super Bowl ring. But the topic of the interview seemed to be “surreal”.

“This is the greatest feeling in the world. I don’t have children, so I can say that this is the greatest moment of my life,” Bolton said. “Just a surreal moment, especially for us, our team, our coaches and our fans. It was just a surreal moment.”
