Straphanger, 36, punched during morning mugging on NYC train: cops

A 36-year-old man was socked in the face and mugged on a Lower Manhattan train Wednesday morning, cops said. 

The victim was riding a southbound No. 4 train around 10:20 a.m. when the crook punched him and grabbed his cell phone, police said. 

Authorities say the incident happened at Cedar Street and Broadway, which is between the Fulton and Wall Street stations.

A suspect was taken into custody a short time later, with charges pending against him, cops said. 

The victim was hospitalized in stable condition, police said.
