Storms DFW: Reports of Damage Across North Texas During Severe Weather

DALLAS. A massive storm hit North Texas on Thursday, and damage continues to be reported in the area.

Severe weather brought with it strong winds and brought hail to the entire region. During the evening hours, a tornado watch was also issued for most of the area.

By late evening, a strong storm subsided.

A possible tornado was seen in Hopkins County in Picton and a “gusty wind” was seen in the town of Denton County Colony. The city of Weatherford also said that a possible tornado had passed through their area, resulting in widespread power outages and damage to schools.

At the La Azteca meat market in Little Elm, part of a building collapsed onto cars in front of the store. At the time of the start of the sweep, there were no reports of casualties.

The Dallas Rescue Service reported shortly before 9:00 p.m. that between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., there were two flood incidents, four automatic fire alarms, 40 traffic accidents, and 76 wire/transformer problems.

In the city of Balch Springs, Dallas County, an Amazon delivery warehouse suffered extensive damage to compartments and parts of the building.
