Spring baseball practice in full swing

FORT MYERS, Florida — 15 Major League Baseball teams compete in the Grapefruit League here in Florida for spring training.

The Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox have called Lee County home for over 30 years.

On Wednesday, thousands of fans came to Hammond Stadium to watch the Twins play the Philadelphia Phillies.

Official attendance was 6,201 with a good split between Phillies and Twins fans.

After the last three years driven by the pandemic, the 2022 lockout, and now the recovery from Hurricane Ian, the typical spring is back, even if it looks a little different.

The game ended in a draw 4-4.
