Sheriff: Homeowner injured during home invasion in Klein neighborhood

According to the sheriff, the homeowner suffered a bruised wound, but was able to get out of the house and call 911.

HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A homeowner was injured during a home invasion when he was hit by a gunman’s bullet in the Klein area on Friday morning, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

It happened in a house on Glenn Elm near Spring Cypress Road. The sheriff tweeted about the incident shortly before 9am.

The sheriff said that after the man broke into the house, he was approached by the landlord. At that moment, the shooter shot him in the head.

According to the sheriff, the homeowner suffered an abrasion but left the house and called 911.

According to the sheriff, a woman was hiding in the house. The deputies arrived at the scene and detained the suspect in the shooting, who was still in the house.

They also found weapons in the house.

“I am glad that the couple is doing well, the injured man is in a satisfactory condition and is expected to survive,” the sheriff said. “Excellent work by our responding deputies and chief.”
