Shelter-in-Place Order lifted on ACC Cypress Creek Campus

Cedar Park, Texas – Austin Community College (ACC) on the Cypress Creek campus has rescinded an asylum-in-place order issued after police received reports of a gunman walking near campus.

The ACC issued the order at noon, and about 45 minutes later they received clearance from the police.

As a precaution, the ACC said all doors on the Cedar Park campus, located at 1555 Cypress Creek Road, were closed and locked while Cedar Park and ACC County police searched the grounds.

Cedar Park police said, “At this time, we are unable to verify or confirm the authenticity of the original report.”

The ACC reports that all activities on campus have returned to normal operation. No other campuses were affected.
