Senator Mitch McConnell hospitalized

WASHINGTON – Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has been released from the hospital after he collapsed during a private dinner at the Waldorf Astoria hotel last week.

During the hospitalization, doctors also discovered a small rib fracture.

The Kentucky senator’s office says the minority leader will continue his recovery in the hospital for a “period of physical therapy” before returning home.

“Leader and Secretary Chao are deeply grateful for the expert medical care, prayers and kindness they have received,” Director of Public Affairs McConnell said in a statement.
