Senator Dianne Feinstein hospitalized with shingles

Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein has been hospitalized after contracting shingles.

Feinstein, who is also the former mayor of San Francisco, is expected to make a full recovery.

“During the February holidays, I was diagnosed with shingles,” Feinstein said in a statement Thursday. “I am hospitalized, receiving treatment in San Francisco and expecting a full recovery. I hope to return to the Senate at the end of this month.”

The senator, who turns 90 in June, is the oldest member of Congress.

Feinstein announced in February that she would not seek re-election in 2024.
