Scooter robbers targeting seniors in Manhattan wanted: NYPD

Police are looking for a scooter-riding duo who they say robbed elderly people in Manhattan.

According to the NYPD, police received a report that the duo on a scooter were approaching an 85-year-old woman on January 2 at around 10:30 p.m. on West 34th Street, heading towards 8th Avenue in Midtown. The couple allegedly forcibly stole the woman’s handbag from her hand as they continued to ride their scooters northbound on 8th Avenue.

The woman suffered a minor hand injury and was taken by ambulance to Lenox Hill Healthplex in stable condition, police said.

According to the NYPD, her stolen purse contained a bank card, ID and personal documents.

The second incident, allegedly related to this duet, occurred on Saturday. It was on this day, around 5:15 pm, that the duo, again on scooters, approached a 76-year-old woman walking east on East 6th Street near Avenue A and tried to force her purse out, causing her to fall on earth. Earth.

In this incident, according to police, the couple failed to steal the wallet and both escaped on scooters traveling westward on East 6th Street towards 1st Avenue.

A 76-year-old woman suffered an injury to her left eye and swelling of her left wrist and was taken by ambulance to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

Police describe the first person as a teenager with a thin build. On both occasions, he was wearing a red hoodie, dark waistcoat, black pants, and black shoes with a white pattern.

The second person is also described by police as a teenager and of a slight build. On both occasions, he wore a green winter hat, white and black jacket, black jeans and black trainers.
