One of the common qualities of the big hits of Spring Festival 2023 is that none of them is a dull, endless propaganda film like the big one. made “blockbuster” pandemic, Battle of Lake Changjin.

At the end of 2021, the Chinese Communist Party practically packed movie theater audiences to turn this piece of Korean War propaganda into a “historic” box office hit. They also made spectators chew on frozen potatoes to express their sympathy for the Chinese soldiers in the war. The sequel was released in 2022 and was a big hit of the Spring Festival season.

This year the program included performances, comedies and cartoons for children:

A total of seven films will hit theaters during the holidays, and one of the highlights of this period is the wide variety of genres spanning sci-fi adventure, historical suspense, sports drama, comedy and fantasy animation.

The Wandering Earth 2 this is continuation to a silly but entertaining sci-fi movie about how to deal with an impending planetary catastrophe by building huge thrusters on the back of the Earth and launching it into space, which might make more sense than what the corporate villains from Avatar movies are trying to reach on Pandora.

Full River Red is a murder mystery set in 12th century China while hidden blade spy thriller set in the 1940s starring Tony Leung, a villain from a Marvel movie. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings — and a boy band heartthrob named Wang Yibo. five hundred miles it’s a body swap comedy, and Chinese Ping Pong it’s a sports comedy.

Nothing on this board looks like cheerless clumsy propaganda. The Wandering Earth 2 was biggest winner season, with an unusually precise release date set well in advance, as well as a rave social media ad campaign.
