School bus driver in Georgia accused of conflict with parents

On Monday, a Georgia school bus driver turned himself in to authorities after a physical confrontation with his parents at a busy intersection.

Krystal Don Johnson, 43, is charged with a battery charge in connection with the January 18 incident in Dallas, a suburb of Atlanta, FOX Atlanta reports. She stood in for a regular bus driver who fell ill during a fight at a bus stop near Old Harris Road and Jimmy Lee Parkway.

The Paulding County School District said there was a glitch during the release of some students.

News reports reported that Johnson was trying to arrange for the release of some students when the “backup” escalated with the parents of several students waiting at a bus stop. School district officials called the Dallas Police Department.

According to the news outlet, mobile phone footage of the incident shows some parents using an SUV to block off an intersection before the confrontation escalated into a physical confrontation.

The police responded and helped to drop the students off the bus, while the warden helped transport the remaining students on the bus. The students returned home safely, the district said.

The district removed Johnson from her bus route. Fox News Digital contacted the county.
