San Diego Chilaquiles Champs Cocina 35 launches many takeaway-only concepts in the Logan area

Known for serving some of the best chilaquiles in town, Cocina 35 has opened a takeaway in San Diego’s Logan neighborhood, and their newest venture also includes eight sister concepts that serve burritos, cakes, sandwiches , other breakfast staples and more. more.

Cocina 35 was founded in Otay Mesa in 2012 by owner Paulina Chaides, who brought her family recipes for Mexican breakfast dishes made from scratch served in a cafeteria in San Diego’s South County. In 2015, a second Cocina 35 opened in the Cortez Hill neighborhood of downtown San Diego. A third Cocina 35 is expected to open this March on a 4,700-square-foot space that last housed a branch of the now-defunct Soda & Swine Consortium Holdings concept, which closed at the start of the pandemic and never reopened.

Exclusive take-out Cocina 35 opened earlier this week at the new Mexican Food Hub collective virtual restaurant in Barrio Logan. As with other Cocina 35 outposts, the new establishment serves a “Comida Corrida” menu: assemble your own brunch plates with a variety of chilaquiles and toppings, as well as scrambled eggs, Cajeta toast, pancakes, cakes, burritos, tacos and more. At the new location, the owners of Cocina 35 have also opened up a host of new concepts, including Burritos La Linea, serving traditional Mexican “Hilera-style” burritos made with fresh flour tortillas folded around slow-cooked stews and eggs.

Apart from Burritos La Linea, other Cocina 35 virtual eateries located in the Mexican Food Center include Tortas Lola, Sandwichtown, Antojitos Del Norte, Mi Dulce Desayuno, Good Morning Mexico, Omelette Bar and Chilaquiles Store. All in all, the new virtual restaurant collective offers a wide variety of Mexican dishes for every meal throughout the day.
