Salinas police: six suspects arrested for burglary of cannabis pharmacy

SALINAS, California. (KION-TV) — Salinas police said Saturday morning that six people were arrested after they tried to steal products from a marijuana dispensary in Salinas and gave them two car chases.

Officers said the incident began around 4:45 a.m. when they ran into several suspects at a Terven Avenue dispensary.

The suspects fled in several vehicles and a chase began.

A male suspect was arrested near Oakland after driving north on Highway 101. Another car headed south on Highway 101 and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office installed spiked lanes to stop them at Chualar.

The five suspects got out of the car and ran in the dark. However, the suspects did not see the 15-foot irrigation ditch in front of them into which they fell.

Five suspects were rescued from a ditch before being arrested. The sheriff’s office diving team descended into the ditch and helped them find some of the stolen items.
