SAFD reports stabbing near UTSA downtown campus

A shocking incident of violence unfolded on Friday evening in downtown San Antonio, as a person was discovered with multiple stab wounds. According to the San Antonio Fire Department, the victim, who has not been identified, was found in the area around Via Central Plaza at the 200 block of N. Frio Street at approximately 8:55 p.m.

Officials from the San Antonio Fire Department responded to the call for help and made their way to the scene as quickly as possible. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim sustained two stab wounds from the altercation. Fortunately, the injuries were deemed non-life threatening.

The victim informed the attending fire officials that the incident stemmed from a dispute that escalated into a physical altercation on the 1000 block of W. Commerce Street. It remains unclear what the argument was about or what led up to it.

At this stage, the authorities have not been able to locate the assailant, and the investigation is ongoing. Officers from the San Antonio Police Department are urging anyone with information relating to the incident to come forward as soon as possible.
