Ryan Keeler, UNLV quarterback freshman, dies at 20

UNLV defender Ryan Keeler died on Monday, according to a report released on Monday. Las Vegas Review Magazine.

Keeler, a 275-pound freshman from Chicago, recently moved to UNLV from Rutgers. He appeared in two games for the Rebels last season, totaling eight tackles and one sack.

Nazareth Academy in Chicago, where Keeler played high school football, tweeted condolences to their deceased former player.

Keeler’s teammates also expressed their regret at his loss.

Keeler has just been named one of the UNLV Players of the Week.

“The UNLV family mourns the sudden loss of one of ours today,” said UNLV Director of Athletics Eric Harper. “Our hearts go out to all of Ryan’s family and friends, as well as his Rebel teammates.” Words are hard to find tonight as we mourn the sudden and tragic loss of UNLV student-athlete Ryan Keeler,” UNLV President Keith E. Whitfield. said. “My sincere condolences to Ryan’s family, friends, loved ones and teammates at this very difficult time.”

Keeler was a business specialist with a 3.80 GPA, earning him a spot on the All-Mountain West academy team.
