“I am very happy that Marlon will join my team. His experience in marketing, advertising and public relations complements my vision for District 9.” Rogers said.

Bolton was first elected to the Tamarack city commission back in 2016, becoming the first black elected official in the city’s history. He later became the city’s first black vice mayor and is currently serving his second term as Commissioner and Vice Mayor.

“Marlon’s experience as an elected official is unique and will benefit the position. I have every confidence that you will succeed in your post,” Rogers added.

Broward County Area 9 covers parts of Plantation, Sunrise, Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, and Oakland Park. The city of Tamarack is not part of the county.

Bolton, who was named by Legacy magazine as one of Broward County’s most influential black leaders, shared his excitement. “I am happy to join Team Rogers. I have no doubt that my contribution to her team will be invaluable. Public service is my passion and it’s another way to use my talents to support the people of Broward County.”
