Road works cause night closures and delays on I-35 in Austin, Georgetown

This week, starting tonight, Sunday, Feb. 26, I-35 will have several overnight closures and delays in North Austin, South Austin, and Georgetown.

For drivers traveling in Williamson County, northbound I-35 will be closed at Williams Drive in Georgetown due to roadworks.

The northbound access road will also be reduced to one lane and the Williams Drive bridge will be closed.

The closure is expected to last from 9pm to 5am each night until the morning of Wednesday, March 1st.

Drivers can also expect overnight delays at the I-35 and US 183 interchange in North Austin.

Several lanes of traffic will be closed on I-35 north and south, as well as front roads, ingress and exit ramps, and overpasses in the direction of US 183.

This closure is expected to last from 21:00 to 05:00 every night until the morning of Friday, March 3rd.

Drivers will also be affected by the overnight shutdown in South Austin.

The left lane north and south of I-35 will be closed every night from Onion Creek Parkway to SH 45 SE. Several entrances and exits will also be closed.

This closure is expected to last from 21:00 to 05:00 every night until the morning of Thursday, March 2.
