Presidents’ Day: What’s Open and Closed in Austin
Austin, Texas – It’s President’s Day, and many businesses are closed on Feb. 20 for the holiday, including Austin’s administrative offices.
Parks and recreation areas
Most parks and recreation in Austin will be closed, but city parks, golf courses, cemeteries, and some swimming pools will be open.

Austin Resource Recovery
All Austin Resource Recovery (ARR) garbage, waste and compost collectors will operate as normal.

Austin Public Health
Environmental health services on the Rutherford Lane campus, the Office of Vital Records, all WIC and Shots for Tots clinics, and neighborhood centers will be closed on Monday, February 20.
COVID-19 testing is available at private and non-profit facilities throughout Austin, including pharmacies, hospitals, and emergency centers.
Austin Energy
All Austin utility service centers will be closed on President’s Day.
Customers can pay utility bills at coautilities.com or call 1-833-375-4919 for a quick payment.
Public Court in downtown Austin
The Violet KeepSafe Storage (VKS) program, homeless services, court services, and community court services in downtown Austin will be closed on Monday, February 20.
The following day, all services will open at regular times: Video Conferencing at 7:00 am, Utilities at 7:30 am, Homeless Services and Judicial Services at 8:00 am.
Austin Public Library
The Austin Public Library, Recycled Reads bookstore, and Austin History Center affiliates will be closed on Monday, February 20.

Austin Animal Center Schedule
The Austin Animal Center will close on Presidents Day.
