Portillo’s announces the opening of two more locations in North Texas.

The two locations, announced on Thursday, will arrive a few weeks after the grand opening at The Colony.

DALLAS. One of Chicago’s most famous restaurants has expanded into North Texas.

Portillo’s, a fast food restaurant known for its unrivaled Chicago street food menu, announced on Thursday the opening of two more locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. One location will be in Arlington and the other in Allen.

The Allen Restaurant will be located south of Allen Premium Outlets. The Arlington Restaurant will be located near Interstate 20 and South Cooper Street.

The announcement came just weeks after the restaurant held the grand opening of its store at The Colony.

“They say there are more and more in Texas, including the number of Portillo restaurants! We are incredibly excited to announce that Portillo’s will be opening new locations this year in Allen, Texas and Arlington, Texas,” the restaurant wrote on Facebook.

The Facebook post contained links to sign up to receive an invitation to a “quick lunch” before the establishments officially opened.

In March 2022, Portillo CEO Michael Osanlu stated that Texas is the #1 state in the nation for shipping business.

“Texas is an amazing market and I can’t wait for our fans to see this amazing restaurant,” Osanlu said in March 2022. for years. We are investing in the right people and the right property to make this restaurant their home.”

In October 2021, Osanlu was interviewed by Forbes and the Chicago Tribune stating that his company will open a restaurant “in a town near Frisco next year.”

The desire to open this Chicago restaurant has been around for a long time. There is a public group on Facebook called Portillo Wanted in DFW which was created in January 2009 and has over 3,900 members as of February 2023. This is more than three times more than a year ago (1200 members).

Portillo’s opened its first restaurant in Illinois in 1963. The company currently has over 70 restaurants in 10 states.

According to Portillo’s guests, they are encouraged to register with Portillo’s Birthday Club to stay up to date with the restaurant’s latest developments.
