Police say suspect kicked officer after assault outside office

SAN ANTONIO. A San Antonio police officer was shot by a man accused of assaulting a woman, authorities said.

The incident happened before noon on Monday at 21100 Milsa Drive on the far northwest side of the city.

Police said a man in his 60s attacked a woman outside the office. Authorities attempted to arrest the man, and then he reportedly kicked the officer.

According to police, the officer suffered a bruised knee and cut his finger. The man was taken into custody.
