Police say an off-duty cop stopped a gunman in downtown Houston.
Police said the shooter was detained after he opened fire on a group of people after an argument.
HOUSTON. The gunman was arrested after shooting at a group of people following an altercation in downtown Houston, police said.
It happened shortly before 10:00 pm Saturday on Dallas Street near the Hyatt Regency Houston hotel.
Police said they were called in to help an on-duty police officer who was working part-time at a local restaurant. Investigators later learned that there had been an altercation between the two groups of people before one of the groups left.
Then a man from the second group followed them and opened fire. The shooter ran away before eventually being caught by the officer on duty.
Houston police said they found a gun on the suspect and, fortunately, no one was hurt in the shooting.
