Police say a 50-year-old man was fatally shot while sleeping in a car in front of his parents’ home in Missouri City.

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – An investigation is underway after a 50-year-old man was shot and killed while sleeping in his car outside his parents’ home in Missouri City, Houston Police Department officers said.

HPD and Houston Fire Department emergency services responded to reports of a shooting in the 15300 block of Readingwood Drive. When they arrived at the scene, the police said they found a wounded man. Police pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Operatives said they were interrogating one woman at the scene. According to investigators, the deceased is the son of the residents. Police say he sometimes sleeps in the truck at the scene.

According to investigators, a man approached the house and shot at the car.

An investigation is currently ongoing.
