Zoo officials contacted law enforcement on January 30 after seeing that their habitat had been “deliberately compromised”.

In a press release, zoo officials said the monkeys would likely stay close to home. But after searching for their habitat and the territory of the zoo, tamarins are still not found.

According to the zoo, based on the police department’s initial assessment, they have reason to believe the monkeys have been taken.

The incident is the latest in a series of recent disturbing events involving zoo animals.

Anyone with information about the person pictured above or the case is asked to call Detective Edwin Sarakay at 214-671-4509 or [email protected].
