Police have released a sketch of a suspect who attacked an elderly man at an East Austin restaurant.

The Austin Police Department released a sketch of a suspect involved in the attack on an elderly man last year.

Police said a man in his 80s was attacked at the Casa Columbia restaurant at 2409 E 7th Street in East Austin on December 8 at around 1:30 p.m.

The attack took place in a restroom of a restaurant when the suspect confronted the victim, pulled out a gun and punched the elderly man in the face.

Detectives launched an investigation showing that the suspect had visited Casa Colombia on several occasions. Detectives believe the suspect may have been trying to clear everyone out of the closet before the attack took place. However, the two men were the only ones in the toilet.

The witness worked with a forensic artist to create a composite photograph of the suspect. The suspect is described as being 5’8″ to 5’9″ Hispanic with fair skin.

If you have had a similar experience at Casa Colombia or other nearby establishments, we encourage you to let us know.
