Polar Plunge returns to TOBAY Beach March 25

Oyster Bay Superintendent Joseph Saladino and Council Member Lou Imbroto are inviting residents to participate in New York’s annual Special Olympics Polar Dive on Saturday, March 25 at TOBAY Beach.
“Many of our residents go to TOBAY Beach for fun in the summer, but this event provides an enjoyable and charitable reason to have a great day at the beach much sooner,” Supervisor Saladino said. “Participants will have the opportunity to show their courage and compassion by diving into the frigid waters of TOBEY Beach to raise funds for Special Olympics New York athletes.”
The event kicks off with winter fun and registration starting at 9:30 AM with diving starting at 11 AM. The requested donation is $25 per participant. Divers collect $150 and receive a commemorative Polar Plunge sweatshirt.
All money raised through Polar Plunge® helps provide year-round sports training and competition, as well as leadership, health and inclusion programs for people with intellectual disabilities in your community.
“This polar dive is sure to be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved and will support a very worthwhile cause,” added Board Member Imbroto. “Special Olympics New York is changing lives through the joy of sport, and the City of Oyster Bay is proud to partner with this extraordinary organization to help make this event a success. Please join me in challenging the cold waters for a good reason.”
Pre-register yourself, your family, and your team today at www.PolarPlungeNY.org. For more information, call Rebecca Hoffmann at (631) 458-1579 or email [email protected].
