Photos released of father accused of killing 9-year-old son in McKinney

A photograph has been released of a 39-year-old man accused of stabbing his 9-year-old son to death last week.

Ponnazhakan Subramanian was arraigned on a death warrant and received $1 million bail. According to police, he was taken to prison after being hospitalized to treat his self-inflicted wounds.

Police said Subramanian killed his son before turning the knife on himself.

It happened on January 6 in an area close to Highway 380 and Custer Road.

Someone called the police and said that their neighbor found her son “unconscious and bleeding” in the house.

The officers who arrived broke into the house and said they found that Subramanian had stabbed himself.

Police said they found his 9-year-old son in the garage with multiple stab wounds. No one else was found in the house.

The boy was declared dead on the spot.

Hundreds gathered on Monday for a candlelight vigil to mourn the loss of a young life.
