Phoenix Police Release Man Who Shot Another Man

Phoenix police released the guy after he admitted to shooting another man in self-defense in an incident that ended in a fatality on Sunday morning.

According to Sgt. Brian Bauer of the Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of Bethany Home Road and 27th Avenue around 9:57 a.m. when the guy turned himself in and confessed to shooting Alejandro Jacques, 26.

According to Bauer, when Jacques and three other guys arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound, Jacques was later pronounced dead. According to Bauer, the police detained three guys with whom Jacques was, as well as one who claimed to have shot him.

The shooter testified to investigators that he acted in self-defense.

The unnamed man, according to Bauer, provided “statements of self-defense” to detectives before eventually being released while the investigation was underway. Bauer did not provide any information about what happened to the three men who were with Jacques or about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

He also stated that after the investigation was completed, the detectives would forward the case to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review.

The case was taken over by detectives from the Homicide Squad of the Phoenix Police Department. The shooter was detained and testified to investigators that he acted in self-defense. While the case is still being investigated, the man was subsequently released. The case will then be completed and submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for evaluation.
