People in Watsonville were waiting outside the airport to see President Joe Biden.

WATSONVILLE, CA (KION-TV) — Those waiting outside the airport were thrilled to see the president arrive in their community. Many have expressed how impressed and shocked they were by the level of detail in the security system.

People began to arrive a few hours before the arrival of the president. They stood outside to look at the president’s helicopter in the front row. The security service was working at full capacity, waiting for the arrival of the president.

Many people like José Rojas and Kelly Crawshaw wanted to be there to experience the moment the incumbent visited the area. The last time this happened was in 1989 during the Loma Prieta earthquake.

“Oh, looks like I’m still mulling it over,” Rojas said. “For example, it’s pretty cool. Like, I’m just. I think it will be crazier than that. I’m excited to see more. You know, I think the more and more of them, the better.”

Crawshaw was thrilled to hear President Joe Biden say, “I’m just overwhelmed and moved to tears at the enormity of the President of the United States landing here in our Watsonville.”

Although they could not see the president in person, they could still wave to him as he passed with his motorcade.

People in Watsonville hoped they welcomed President Biden warmly to the Central Coast.

The President left the Watsonville airport around 1:20 p.m. and headed to the Capitol.
