Pedestrian hit by car in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, TX (CBSDFW.COM) – A man died after being hit by a car in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth police answered the call around 9:37 pm on February 21 near the intersection of South Highway and East Berry Street.

Police say the man was walking along the northern lanes of the Southern Service Road when he was hit by a vehicle also traveling north on the Southern Service Road.

The driver of the vehicle tried to avoid the man but collided with another vehicle and then hit him.

The man was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Police say he was later declared dead.

Both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with the police. No criminal charges are expected at this time.
