One killed, two injured in Long Island plane crash caught on video

One person died and two were injured when a small plane crashed near Long Island on Sunday, with doorbell camera video showing the plane on fire.

The plane crashed near Fifth Street and North Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst around 3:00 pm, Suffolk County Police said.

Dramatic footage from the Ring camera shows the roar of the ship’s engine, followed by a massive explosion. Then a fireball erupts before a plume of black smoke rises from behind the trees.

“Basically you heard something like ‘ta-ta-ta’ and then all of a sudden you heard a bang and a bit like a squeak,” said local resident Ken Defreitas, whose doorbell camera captured the explosion in a wooded area near his home. . .

“I started listening to my pager and then they said they had a plane crash,” he said. “I went outside and you see all the black smoke.”

There were three people on the Piper PA 28, one of whom died in the crash. Two others were airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital with serious injuries, according to NBC-TV News. Nobody on earth was hurt.

The identities of the three people on the plane have not been released.
