Officials: Teen shot to death in Everman park; police looking for suspect

The condition of the juvenile victim is currently unknown, but police have told the WFAA that his condition is stable.

EVERMAN, Texas. Everman police are looking for a teen suspect after a shooting in a park Monday night, officials said.

Around 7:30 p.m., officers were called to shoot at Johnson Park in the 1900 block of Everman Parkway. When they arrived, police said the teenager had been found with a gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital by Everman Fire employees.

The victim’s condition is currently unknown, but police said the victim’s condition is stable.

Witnesses told police that the children were playing basketball when the fight broke out.

A mother who was watching her child’s baseball practice told the WFAA that she heard gunshots and began ducking. She said it shocked the children and other parents.

Police said the investigation was ongoing but confirmed to the WFAA that the suspect is also a male underage.
