New York wine cellar owner stabbed by man who tried to steal Snapple
On Wednesday, police said a Brooklyn wine cellar owner was stabbed while trying to stop a thief from stealing a Snapple from his store earlier this month.
The violence broke out after a man and woman entered the Deli and Grill together on Bedford Avenue in Flatbush shortly before 6 p.m. Jan. 16, police said.
The man tried to leave with a bottle of iced tea, but the owner tried to stop him, causing an argument with the couple.
According to police, during the quarrel, the thief pulled out a knife and stabbed the owner in the back, and the woman punched him several times in the face.
The 44-year-old owner was taken to Kings County Hospital where he is expected to recover, police said.
