MSNBC’s Johnson: GOP House is a ‘terrorist organization’ – McCarthy ‘doesn’t like this country’
MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson said on “The 11th Hour” Monday that the Republicans in the House of Representatives were a “terrorist organization” led by Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) who “doesn’t like this country.”
Host Stephanie Roulet said, “I will never leave this woman.” Jason, this is not a Kevin Costner quote from the main Bodyguard movie. This is Kevin McCarthy talking about a colleague. What are we to do about it?”
Johnson said: “It’s one thing to say that this is my working wife. Right? And it’s a completely different thing when you have Stockholm syndrome. That’s what we have here. This guy was beaten up by the far right and his own party for being so wrong that he convinced himself he was in love with Marjorie Taylor Green. Look, I don’t make judgments about who people line up with, but if you want to love someone who is a terrorist sympathizer, that says a lot about whether you should potentially be third in line to leave this country in the event of a tragedy.” .
He added, “I don’t objectively care if the best friends are, their best friends, if they’re in the top five, I don’t care. What worries me is the extent to which the people who have dedicated themselves to the violent overthrow of our government are being normalized in some way, way or form by the elected leadership of our government. I don’t care if Jim Jordan, Marjorie Taylor Green, Paul Gosar, or hundreds of other Republicans voted not to check the 2020 election results. So if McCarthy has a special relationship with Marjorie Taylor Green, it goes to show that I’ve been saying for years that you don’t have a Republican Party. You have a counter for a terrorist organization. And it’s just a public attempt to watch this relationship and pretend they’re having a party under the guise of this brand new best friend love relationship that they have because McCarthy has no backbone and no love for this country.”
