Missing Texas girl found locked in North Carolina annex

LEXINGTON, North Carolina — A missing 13-year-old Texas girl was found locked in an outbuilding near her home in North Carolina, authorities said on Monday.

Dallas police and FBI investigators say the 34-year-old man lured the girl out of the house by chatting with her on social media and then picked her up in his car, Sheriff Richie Simmons said at a press conference in Davidson County. , North Carolina.

Video cameras near the girl’s home filmed a car registered to an address in Davidson County, and a special agent for the FBI’s Texas Violent Crime Task Force contacted the sheriff’s office on Friday, officials said in a news release.

“Within 10 minutes, our guys saw this residence,” said Captain Stephanie Murphy. “After that, things went pretty fast.”

Investigators found the car and detained the owner as he left the house, officials said. During the stop, it turned out that the girl was locked in an outbuilding on the site in Lexington, where she was found. She was taken in for a medical checkup and eventually returned to Texas, officials said.

The man, identified as Jorge Ivan Santos Camacho, was taken into custody and charged with kidnapping, criminal restraint, human trafficking, statutory rape, statutory sex offense and indecent liberties.
